Since 2004, sea ice observations as part of Canadian Arctic
Sea Ice Mass Balance Observatory (CASIMBO) have been conducted in the
Lincoln Sea region of the Arctic Ocean. In May 2010, airborne EM
induction measurements as well as ground based measurements of EM
induction, ice and snow thickness, snow density, and ice cores were
collected. Comparisons between the airborne and ground based ice
thickness techniques and to past observations are presented. Results
from in-situ measurements of snow thickness, snow density and ice core
analysis are also presented. Furthermore, the use of differential GPS
for ice floe/ridge mapping is presented.
