Bus information
This page gives an overview of the buses participants are likely to use. Your bus card is valid for unlimited travel on city routes for 7 days from the first time you use it. To use the card, simply hold it up to the card reader at the front of the bus. Drivers usually speak English and are generally willing to call out a stop if you are unfamiliar with the route. For all routes to the university, you will want to get off at the main university bus stop, called UiTø/ISV, or just UiT. From there, there will be IGS signs leading you on the short walk to the venue, Teorifagbygget. The main city centre stops are shown here, and the university stop is shown here.
A trip planner is available in Norwegian only, but typing the bus stop names given here (or the start of them) will cause it to list suggestions, and you can choose the right starting (fra) and ending (til) bus stop (holdeplass) or location (sted) and give the date and time for departure (avgang) or arrival (ankomst), then click on Søk. "Vis i kart" will show the route or stop on a zoomable Google map. Links from stop names below go to the stop on a different map that allows for better linking; click on bus symbols for stop names.
On the pdf schedules, rows with DX67 on the left side run Monday to Friday, those with 6 on the left side run on Saturday, and those with 7 run on Sunday.
